Hillary’s Housing Initiative

Politics | Written by: Trae 2 Comments »

So I was reading some news today and ran across this. Hillary Clinton is apparently thinking up ways to bail people out of their bad decisions when they bought a house with a variable rate loan that starts at 3% for the first 3 years then to +12% after that. Here’s a clip from her website:

Hillary goes to the Nasdaq stock exchange today to call on Wall Street to help clean up the housing foreclosure crisis it helped create. Wall Street not only enabled reckless mortgage lending, it encouraged it-1.8 million home foreclosure notices have been filed this year, a 74% increase from 2006. Now it’s time for lenders, homeowners and investors to come together to solve this crisis and stem the tide of foreclosures.

Hillary will challenge lenders and financial institutions to take three immediate steps today: 1) Voluntarily support a moratorium of at least 90 days on home foreclosures; 2) freeze the fluctuating rates on subprime loans for at least 5 years until they can be converted into fixed rate, affordable loans; 3) Require regular status reports on the progress they’re making in converting unworkable mortgages into loans families can afford so we have real accountability.

Hillary is proposing a comprehensive work out-not a bail out-that would end the foreclosure crisis. If Wall Street refuses to act, Hillary will propose legislation to tackle the problems in the housing market head on.

So what does this mean for us? We can all stop paying our mortgages so that the mortgage companies have to give us better interest rates that make the payments something “families can afford.” So get ready to turn off the automatic bill pay to your mortgages if this goes through and we can all have 10 year mortgages soon!!

Looks like Hillary thinks “real accountability” or government intervention should substitute for personal accountability.

Makes Me Sick

Check this out, Planned Parenthood has set up this site just for teens. And this is what they have to say about states that require parental consent for abortions:

Ironically, more than half of the states that require parental involvement for abortion do permit a pregnant minor to make the decision to continue her pregnancy and to consent to prenatal care and delivery without consulting a parent. In addition, states appear to consider a minor who is a parent to be fully competent to make major decisions affecting the health and future of her child, even though many of these same states require a minor to involve her parents if she decides to terminate her pregnancy.

The funny thing is, is that this shows that PP is not Pr0-choice. Apparently, not even they approach pregnancy like most pro-choice people do. They seem to be pushing abortion like it is some miracle cure that can take away all your problems. I’m beginning to see PP as no better than drug dealers. You would think that an organization like that would see the merit in a teen learning to take responsibility for their actions.

Concerns

Politics | Written by: Trae 1 Comment »

Concerns…I have concerns on many of the allegations about the White House knowing about the September 11 attacks before it happened. Also the allegations the President Bush dropped the ball on the fight against terror by going to war with Sadam Hussien. I’m not trying to push my conservative views, nor am I attempting to defend President Bush. I am simply concerned about why, when, and in what context these issues have been brought to light. Let us start in the order received.
